ABSTRACT

Piezoelectric devices produce an electric charge when under the mechanical stress. Lead zirconate titanate (PZT) is a widely used the piezoelectric ceramic with a perovskite crystalline structure. The piezoelectric effect generates an electric charge when the material is deformed. Conversely, when an electric potential is applied between the facets of the material, it deforms. A charge amplifier is assembled to produce an output voltage that is proportional with the total charge generated by a PZT transducer. The output of the amplifier will be analyzed in the MATLAB. The mechanical resonance will be demonstrated using the frequency characteristics of the transducer.
