ABSTRACT
Having discussed, in Chapter 4, both how the social idea of a commons arose and how the concept was used in reciprocal relationships between humans and Nature over the millennia, Chapter 5 is an elucidation of the inviolable biophysical principles that determine the ever-novel, irreversible relationships that comprise planet Earth and how our human behavior affects them—and us human beings—for all generations.
