ABSTRACT

Module 6 blends professional practice in reflection as a pedagogically and theoretically contentious concept that improves understanding professional practice and actions taken as a result of reflective thinking. The three major reflection processes include: reflection “in”, “on”, and “for” action. Models of reflective practice including commonsense, the what, experiential learning, and iterative models are initially discussed. In addition, conditions and situations that prompt engagement in the reflective process are discussed. This module also presents the process of reflective listening, reading, and writing; reflection on design; and tools of reflection on learning including processes like journaling, portfolios, and studios.
