ABSTRACT

Introductory concepts about the relationship between nuclear energy and climate change are being attempted. Then the experience gained from the nuclear tests carried out in the context of the nuclear war is recorded and the relevant impacts on the climate are indicated. The benefits and potential effects of the use of the nuclear energy on climate are being discussed in detail, taking into account international conventions, agreements, protocols, and their amendments. An attempt is then made to answer the question, what can we do, on the basis of the Anthropocene, while mentioning the Greta Thunberg movement and Extinction Rebellion. In the following, the concept of sustainability is analysed, keeping in mind that man is the most dangerous animal in the world. Finally, several arguments are analysed in depth to show that economic growth is not our salvation.
