ABSTRACT
The flow of fluids, a major aspect of study in fluid
mechanics, is encountered in many areas of engineering
practice, including food engineering. There are many situa-
tions where the details of fluid flow are important. The
knowledge of how the velocity varies over the cross-section
of a pipe and how the pressure and shear stress influence
fluid flow are important in many process situations.
