ABSTRACT
In the biomedical field, residence time distribution (RTD)
has been widely applied in pharmacokinetic studies to
examine the kinetics of drug absorption; it has also been
employed to study transport physiology (e.g., assessment
of changes in retinal blood flow and transport in lymphatic
capillaries), and macromixing in bioartificial organs, just
to name a few examples.
