ABSTRACT

While eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is already widely used across the Web today, it is still a relatively new technology. XML is a meta-language, which means it is a language used to create other languages. XML can provide a basic structure and set of rules for developing any markup language. Using XML, it is possible to create a unique markup language to model just about any kind of information, including Web content. It can even be used to develop a reformulated version of HTML, for example, as was done in the development of XHTML.
