ABSTRACT
Let’s use the Story Contract to look at a couple of forms of interactive fiction that have appeared in several variations: branching narratives and hypertext narratives. These two techniques deserve close attention because they are by far the two most frequently-used structures employed today for involving the audience actively in a story.
