ABSTRACT
This chapter has examines what a Cloud Infrastructure is, what it means to the end user, its advantages and disadvantages, as well as its practical applications. The evolution of research and development (R&D) on the Cloud, by providing a chronological history of the discoveries of its major components. The advent of the Cloud Computing Infrastructure, many organizations are now moving away from the On Premises solution to a Cloud based one. The key differentiating factors of Amazon Web Services that it can be uses by any one individual or business organization. The terms risk and threat, in that the two are very often used together to mean the same thing. The Amazon Shared Responsibility model, for instance, seeks to clearly establish the difference between who is responsible for security in the public Cloud, and of the public Cloud. The Data lifecycle management, data efficiency, and architecture become critical when look at data protection in the public Cloud.
