ABSTRACT

“Projects exist and operate in environments that may have an influence on them”. The way to implement change is to have projects because these projects are, in fact, the lifeblood of an organization. This chapter addresses the project environment factors and success factors, bringing about change to an organization, so it continues to grow and respond to internal and external demands. The life cycle is a basic framework for everything involved in the management of a project, regardless of the type of business in which the project is connected. The environment for a project involves the nature of communication, such as face-to-face or virtual interactions, and whether this communication will occur in one or more time zones. Many factors can influence a project environment and project success. Enterprise environmental factors and organizational process factors can positively or negatively influence projects. Some factors fall inside or outside of the control of the organization, but all factors can influence a project.
