ABSTRACT
Artificial Intelligence is everywhere now, including virtual assistants, image recognition systems, search recommendation systems, and other applications. Recently, neural networks have been widely used to achieve the goals of artificial intelligence including reasoning, learning, planning, perception, knowledge representation and creativity. Even considering the challenges connected to neural networks, it is obvious that artificial intelligence has benefited greatly from the arrival of neural networks mostly leveraged by factors such as capabilities of modern computers, open source libraries and available large data set. Although we are still in the early stages of neural network adoption, we have already seen significant impact across nearly every industry including defense, healthcare, computer vision and more. Self-driving cars and human-like virtual assistants are just a few products of the recent shift in artificial intelligence research that has revolutionized the way machines learn from data. This chapter begins with an introduction to artificial intelligence and neural networks. It then talks about the evolution of artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning based on the challenges they faced over time. Finally, it shows the importance of modern technologies that can be used across all industries. [187 words]
