ABSTRACT
A description of the mechanical properties of AFM probes is included this chapter. Readers will become familiar with common AFM probe dimensions used by manufacturers. A discussion of the importance of tip geometry to the overall resolution of AFM images is in this chapter. Readers will also learn about the general processes used to fabricate AFM probes. The two primary mechanical properties of AFM probes included in this chapter are spring constants and resonance frequency.
