ABSTRACT
In recent years, fiber optic technology has had a great deal of control over applications and in various fields of industry due to its many advantages of data transmission speed, immunity to electromagnetic waves, and their simplicity and ease of installation compared to conventional technologies. These properties made it very attractive for sensor and control applications and tools. In these areas, optical fiber has a significant impact, making it a fierce competitor. Fiber optic technology has tremendous potential by using a single-fiber optic string as a sensor to measure many parameters as some electrical and non-electrical values in ship systems. National and international rules and regulations have been established and are the minimum conditions for the ship's power. The proposed optical liquid level reading system on board a ship should enable more accuracy for the determination of the liquid quantity in ship’s tanks. Hybrid transmission system is a standard measurement system used in many applications, thanks to its capabilities.
