ABSTRACT

Pulse position responding multipliers are classified into pulse position detecting multipliers and pulse position sampling multipliers. A saw tooth wave of period T whose peak value is proportional to one input voltage is detected by a peak detector during a time δT, which is proportional to another input voltage. The peak detector output is proportional to the product of the two input voltages. A saw tooth wave of period T whose peak value is proportional to one input voltage is sampled by a sampling pulse whose position over the period T is proportional to another input voltage. The sampled output is proportional to the product of two input voltages.
