ABSTRACT

In Chapter 13, we introduced the C1V1 = C2V2 equation and showed how it is often used when preparing various buffers and other laboratory solutions. The C1V1 = C2V2 equation is a valuable calculation tool when performing dilutions, but there are situations where you will need additional ways to think about dilutions. This is partly because you will encounter varied terminology and varied strategies to describe and deal with dilutions in the scientific literature. It is important to understand what various authors mean when they discuss dilutions.
