ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses some of the math calculations associated with running the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This discussion is not intended to be a guide to performing PCR but rather explores the calculations you might encounter, particularly when optimizing a PCR reaction or setting up a PCR procedure. Chapter 25 continues our discussion by looking at the calculations associated with quantitative PCR.
