ABSTRACT

In addition to the various recognised proportioning methods, there are still many more promising methods of proportioning that have not reached implementation phase. This chapter discusses methods of proportioning concrets through predicting void content in aggregate mix, proportioning for special concretes like self-compacting concrete, lightweight concrete, roller-compacted concrete, high-density concrete, and super-sulphated concrete. Mix proportioning through void content optimization is what that author devised and is referred to as the author’s method.

What proportion of aggregates gives the lowest void content?

How is lightweight concrete designed?

Can a heavyweight concrete be manufactured using normal aggregates?
