ABSTRACT

Concrete-mix proportioning is not complete until it is tested and validated for its performance and not just for the strength but also for its fresh properties. Concrete-mix proportioning deals with the coarse details of the mix, but when tested, fine adjustments need to be done to get the relevant performance by further correcting and adjusting the mixes. Moreover, there are certain corrections based on the condition of the raw materials which are discussed in this chapter.

What factors affect the water cement ratio during manufacture of concrete?

What factors affect the actual realised proportion of concrete, and how can the proportioning corrected?
