ABSTRACT

The computer programs were written to provide examples on manipulation of the data. Curious individuals and investigators are encouraged to execute or modify these programs, or to create their own programs, for the purposes of exploring, examining, or studying the C. elegans data through computation. Larger computers or supercomputers may also be used to modify and execute the sample FORTRAN programs. Before executing any program, make sure that the program to be executed and its required input data files are located in the same directory or subdirectory. The program generates two output files, both named by the user. The main program uses a series of subroutines to perform the task. The user is notified at various points of what is needed or of the progress achieved.
