ABSTRACT

Part 1 contains the foundational elements needed for analysis of differential equations; it has definitions, concepts, and transformations. After the definitions, there are sections for almost 30 topics related to differential equations. For example, consider “chaos”. What is it? How do we know if a differential equation has it? What are some examples? What are useful references where a reader can learn more? Each topic is described in just a few pages. Included are traditional topics (“What are conservation laws?”), advanced topics (“What are stochastic differential equations?”), and sophisticated topics (“How can you solve differential equations with quaternions?”). Finally, there are more than dozen sections on transformations, covering both ordinary and partial differential equations.
