ABSTRACT

Part 2 describes how to find exact solutions to differential equations, both ordinary and partial, single equations and systems. More than 50 topics are presented and for each the most needed information is given in a concise format: What types of equations does a topic apply to? What can you obtain using this topic? What is the analysis process? Examples are given for nearly every topic, and references are included. Again, only a few pages per topic, but enough to remind a practitioner of a techniques, or expose them to a new one. Once again, the topics covered include traditional (“How to solve an Euler equation?”), more advanced (“How do I use Green's functions?”), and sophisticated (“How can Lie algebras be used”? and “What is the Fokas method?”).
