Introduction

Groundwater vulnerability maps are useful for decision making in land use planning and water resource management. This chapter discusses the pros and cons of various groundwater vulnerability assessment models and brings out the underlying research gaps associated with these models. It further describes the implicit challenges associated with the development of the groundwater vulnerability assessment models in terms of scientific considerations to the environmental parameters and their selections.
