ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses various hydro-geological parameters and also accounts for the usefulness of the anthropogenic factors in Fatehgarh Sahib district to generate a more reliable groundwater vulnerability map by modifying the fundamental DRASTIC model. It presents the findings of the study based on the application of decision analysis technique AHP for the scientific assignment of the weights and ratings associated with DRASTIC parameters. It further describes the comprehensive assessment of the impact of the vadose zone by considering every subsurface layer from the earth surface to the occurrence of groundwater.
