ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the concept of breaking – the effect arising from the study of the hydrodynamic model of noninteracting particles. In addition, the basic system of equations characterizing the dynamics of a collisionless plasma is determined and the simplest one-dimensional plane subsystems are derived from it: relativistic and non-relativistic. The chapter deals with the concept of breaking arising in the study of the movements of a continuous medium in the framework of the hydrodynamic model of noninteracting particles. It considers the simplest case when no external forces act on the substance. When modelling plasma oscillations, it should be borne in mind that it is very difficult to establish the existence of the breaking effect, since it can be deeply hidden ‘in the depths’ of the model under consideration. Therefore, it is reasonable to simplify the equations to such an extent that the boundary between the presence of a breaking effect and the absence of it is found.
