ABSTRACT

The chapter discusses various problems of modelling plasma wake waves, whose settings differ from the basic ones. Numerical algorithms for solving these problems, as well as the very properties of these solutions are of independent interest. The formulation of the problem is carried out for studying the axial solution during the propagation of a wake wave excited by a short laser pulse. To solve a system of nonlinear partial differential equations describing the three-dimensional dynamics of ions and electrons in a plasma wake wave, the chapter presents a difference scheme and an iterative algorithm for its implementation. The results of numerical simulation showed that a domain with a low ion density is formed behind the short laser pulse, leading to the destruction of the wake wave. The category of additional studies on the breaking of wake waves in the hydrodynamic approximation is the work.
