ABSTRACT

The conventional emergency treatment methods are containment, recovery, on-site combustion, treatment with chemical preparations, and biodegradation of spilled oil. Equipment and materials used are oil boom, oil skimmer, oil delivery pump, oil storage equipment, oil recovery vessel, oil absorption material and chemical preparations, etc. The oil boom is mainly used to control spilled oil to a small range to prevent it from further diffusion and drift. The emergency treatment methods of oil spill can be roughly classified into three categories, namely physical, chemical and biological treatment methods. When treating the oil spill, the scheme should be optimized according to the specific conditions of oil contaminants and attention should be paid to protection of the marine environment and minimizing the pollution to the surrounding environment at the same time. In the actual emergency treatment, the operation teams are required to timely and quickly take appropriate number of oil booms from the storage site and effectively place them into the sea.
