ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the positive significance to the distinctness, uniformity and stability (DUS) testing of peanut. Seed is an important organ of crops and the same seed varieties have some species-specific properties that are different from other varieties in nature such as genetic specificity, consistency and stability, which are the main contents of seed DUS. Picture preprocessing includes image enhancement, de-noising, median filtering, edge detection, morphological operations, image color space conversion and other conventional pretreatment methods. The selected appearance features are divided into four broad categories of 54 characteristics, in which the color, shape, and texture features, respectively, are captured from the color image, binary image and texture image. Traceability of seed origin is an important part of seed quality testing. In the process of producing automatic traceability, correctly identifying the origin of the seed is the basic premise in order to validate the feasibility of automatic traceability of the origin of varieties of peanut pod on image recognition technology.
