ABSTRACT
This chapter explains how to represent absolute quantitative data that express a proportionality relationship between geographical objects: only the visual variable size is adapted here. This is demonstrated, and the rules for constructing the visual variable size are clarified. Other approaches such as Bertin’s dots, dot density maps, or varying height and volume are presented.
