ABSTRACT

Ultrasonic spot welding (USW) has gained an abundance of consideration for its ability to join dissimilar metal and alloys with widely different chemical, physical, and mechanical properties, which cannot be achieved through any conventional fusion welding process. The implementation of USW technique in automotive industries has proven a promising method to deliver defect-free joints in Li-ion battery manufacturing and overall weight reduction of the automobile. However, the industrial applications of USW are still limited, and several challenges must be met to achieve the excellent, robust, and reliable welds discussed in this book.
