In many engineering situations waveforms have to be combined. There are a number of methods of determining the resultant waveform. These include by:
drawing the waveforms and adding graphically
drawing the phasors and measuring the resultant
using the cosine and sine rules
using horizontal and vertical components
using complex numbers
