ABSTRACT

Microneedles have been widely used to enhance the delivery of various drugs and vaccines into and across the skin. Transdermal and intradermal drug delivery has been the primary application of microneedles. Numerous articles in the literature have covered the delivery-enhancement efficacy of microneedles. Interestingly, microneedles could provide safe and effective treatment for targeted tissues. This chapter focuses on microneedle applications in oral, ocular, and specific tissue drug delivery.
