A difficult part of virtual reality (VR) development is cramming everything into the simulation without destroying performance. In the Profiler window, down the left-hand side of the graphs are the active profilers. In the top left of the Profiler window is a button Add Profiler. The Graphics Processing Unit refers to the processor on the main board of the graphics card. This Profiler allows game designer to see how the GPU load is being distributed. In the Profiler graphs, different types of rendering are color coded, such as rendering transparent textures or shadows. Texture atlasing is the process of using a texture map that contains several different textures combined into a single image. The large multitexture is mapped to more than one surface or 3D object differently, reducing the number of times that the Central Processing Unit is required to send texture data to the GPU and reducing draw calls.
