ABSTRACT

This chapter gives summary tables and plots for the explicit gamlss.dist continuous distributions with range (-8, 8). It discusses the location-scale of family distributions as well as Gumbel distribution and logistic distribution. Since the reverse Gumbel distribution is the type I extreme value distribution, it is the reparameterized limiting distribution of the standardized maximum of a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables from an ‘exponential type distribution’, which includes the exponential and gamma. The normal-exponential-t (NET) distribution was introduced by Rigby and Stasinopoulos as a robust method of fitting the location and scale parameters of a symmetric distribution as functions of explanatory variables. The NET is a four-parameter continuous distribution, and although in gamlss it is used as a two-parameter distribution with the other two parameters fixed as constants.
