ABSTRACT

In this chapter, various output parameters (or responses) of Incremental Sheet Forming (ISF) will be studied in detail. The methods of measuring the output parameters are also explained in this chapter to impart knowledge on how to measure output parameters to the readers and researchers. In addition, the implementation of any manufacturing process on an industrial scale is largely dependent on the guidelines that highlight the relationship between input parameters and responses (output parameters). The responses of the ISF process to the input parameters determine the criteria for setting up the values of parameters for various applications. Although there are many responses of the ISF process that have been investigated by researchers, the important responses that determine the suitability and sustainability of the ISF process on an industrial scale are: Forming-force, Formability, Geometrical accuracy, Thickness reduction and Surface roughness. Special attention has been given to the effects of input parameters on various key responses of the die-less ISF process.
