ABSTRACT

In wireless sensor network (WSN), data from the sensor nodes are transmitted to the receiver in a wireless fashion without any physical link between the transmitter and the receiver. As the wireless transmission technology has already become very reliable and secured, it is gaining more and more acceptance for data transmission, particularly for situations where wired transmission faces a myriad of practical problems for transmission of data. Some of the issues which are important in designing a WSN are operating environment, sensor type and its placement, power consumption, computational facilities, etc. It is essential that node location and time stamping are very much required for proper operation of a WSN. For proper and reliable operation of a WSN, both the location of sensors and the sensor node as also the time stamping are of prime importance.
