ABSTRACT

9.01 Part III presents detailed guidelines and recommendations for preparing, designing, constructing, and maintaining rural access infrastructure (RAI). It serves to expand the strategies developed in Part II, which, in turn, are methods of implementing the policies outlined in Part I. Each major factor affecting the selection of a RAI network is the subject of a chapter in Part III. Specific technical features concerning some of the subject matter in Part III are further amplified in the Annexes which make up Part IV. Accessibility is the first subject dealt with in Part III.
