ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the status of data mining and data fusion architectures and applications in wide-area monitoring systems. Limitations to their greater application and use are discussed and key research directions that may be useful to meet the needs of future power grids are identified. Challenges for data fusion and data mining of large data sets are also addressed.
