If staff have left your team in the past, they left because of you. Yes, you. People don’t leave jobs, they leave managers. Your team needs to feel inspired, supported, empowered, and encouraged by you. They need to see your strategic vision and adopt it as their own. They need to be able to rise to the occasion, not be smacked down for their ideas and efforts. Having staff too afraid to try anything, in fear of being ridiculed, or constantly being put down will create an atmosphere of stagnation and fear.
