ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with bifurcation behaviour of nonlinear systems. It also explains different types of bifurcation namely: Saddle node bifurcation, transcritical bifurcation, pitch fork bifurcation and Hopf bifurcations (both supercritical and subcritical). Later part of the chapter presents the introduction to chaos, Lorentz equations, stability analysis of Lorentz equations and chaos in chemical systems. The above concepts are also illustrated with suitable examples.
