ABSTRACT

The energy consumption of gateways in wireless sensor networks is crucial. So, one way of efficient energy consumption is to balance the load of gateways. In this chapter, the shuffled frog leaping algorithm (SFLA) is used to select the network of balanced load on the gateways. In SFLA different solutions are generated, and the quality of the solution is identified according to the fitness function. The solutions are partitioned into different complexes and sub-complexes. The crossover operation is applied to the solutions, and the best optimal solution is selected as a final solution. The proposed SCE-based algorithm is compared with the state-of-the-art algorithms under evaluation factors such as energy consumption, alive sensor nodes, dead sensor nodes at rounds.
