ABSTRACT
It deals with the interrelated nature of economic growth, natural resource use, and environmental protection. Economic development, the ultimate goal of which is to improve human welfare, is crucially dependent on the environment and natural resources to provide the goods and services which directly and indirectly generate socioeconomic benefits. This chapter also discusses about the economic analysis, scope and goal definition for life cycle assessment, and its effect on project planning techniques.
