ABSTRACT
The patterns insertion is discussed in the chapter as a method for the design of new weave patterns. Tighten rib with additional overlaps, tightened rib with additional threads, tightened twill, and satin/sateen with additional weft threads are presented as weaves for rib-like effects on the fabric surface. Weave patterns for diagonal effects (fancy diagonal twill) and crepe weaves are also demonstrated. All patterns are described with the expressions for the calculation of the weave repeat.
