ABSTRACT
When considering probabilities involving card games including blackjack, baccarat, and several of the games examined in this chapter, unless the cards are completely reshuffled between hands, a card dealt in one hand cannot appear again until the cards are shuffled and returned to play. Some carnival games based on poker attempt to mimic the flow of a standard poker game by incorporating multiple rounds of betting into game play. Four-card poker pits the gambler against the dealer in a head-to-head game matching four-card poker hands. The Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia hosts a New Games Lab on its gaming floor, where new casino carnival games can be tested in a live casino environment. Among the games offered in the Lab is Pokerbo, another table game based on 5-card poker. Flip-It combined elements from poker and roulette into a new table game that debuted in a field trial at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas in 2018.
