ABSTRACT
Green manufacturing is an effective way to protect resources and environment and conserve the resources for future generation. This chapter provides a brief introduction to green manufacturing, an area of great importance for current and future manufacturing operations. It begins with traditional manufacturing concepts and then addresses green manufacturing practices. This chapter also highlights some applications of green manufacturing and discusses how to improve awareness about green manufacturing and covers the benefits and challenges of green manufacturing. The last section concludes the chapter.
