ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a brief introduction to green engineering. It begins by illustrating how the 12 principles of green chemistry and green engineering can be used to aid in design. A range of illustrative common examples or applications of green chemistry and green engineering are presented. Some benefits and challenges of these technologies are addressed. The last section concludes the chapter.
