ABSTRACT
Green cloud computing (GCC) can produce solutions that can make the IT resources energy efficient while minimizing the operational costs. This chapter provides an introduction to GCC. It begins by providing an overview of cloud computing and green computing. It covers several efficiency metrics and presents some economic benefits and challenges facing GCC. The last section concludes the chapter.
