ABSTRACT

The properties of perovskite oxides are primarily governed by the B-site cations owing to their d-electron configuration. The electronic properties of perovskite oxides can be divided as metallic, semiconducting, superconducting, insulating, dielectric, piezoelectric, thermoelectric, pyroelectric, electrocaloric, etc. Many of these properties are temperature-dependent, and they are altered by the crystal structure, phase transformation, presence of oxygen vacancies, etc. This chapter addresses the electronic and related properties of perovskite oxides concerning the possible applications.
