ABSTRACT
Evaporation has a central place in the description of water transport in brick, stone and concrete. We describe the physics of drying in porous materials, including the two-stage representation, the con- cept of potential evaporation and the role of air flow. Topics include: a full Sharp Front analysis of coupled capillary rise and evaporation in porous materials.
