ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1, an in-depth introduction to cognitive radio technology along with its need, characteristics and types is deliberated. The three transmission techniques namely underlay, overlay, and interweave have been explained. Moreover, this chapter also discusses the applications, challenges, and simulation tools related to cognitive radio.
