ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the modelling of photo-voltaic systems fitted on buildings for the generation of electricity. Modelling steps explained in this chapter include creating rooftop photo-voltaic systems, defining module properties and adding an electric load centre. Concepts covered in the tutorials include analyzing the impact of tilt angle on photo-voltaic plates, the impact of shading from roof top photo-voltaic systems and the impact of cell efficiency. Further, simulation of building-integrated photo-voltaic systems for glazing and opaque building components is also discussed.
